Summer is here……

…..and I’m not ready, but the kids are! We still have a few last minute pieces of business to complete: approve summer spending (including next year’s PE/literacy program), get the board elect together and schedule next year’s meetings and main fund-raising events, and implement plans to greet next school year’s new incoming families.

We also want to evaluate the response to some of this year’s changes to the way that we communicate with each other: the fantastic new website (thanks Mitch and Rosalind), Yahoo groups, e-bulletin, email and postings around the campus. If anyone has comments, please email them to president@marshalllanepta.org.  

We’re all hoping that Measure G passes, and that next year’s budget doesn’t contain more bad news. We’re waiting to see how large our classes will be next year, and hoping that our great teachers all return to ML.

We’re gearing up to put on a Pumpkin Walk that will be the talk of the school. The new school year will be here before we’re ready for it, I’m sure. We’re excited about building on the momentum that was generated over the last four or five months. Everyone is realizing that we CAN make a difference.

We had some firsts this year: Technology Night, STARS club, Spring Fling profit over $24,000, traveling world map, campus garden, green team, family mentoring. Our new principal is no longer new at her job.
