PTA PROGRAMS
The Marshall Lane PTA is able to support the following programs in our school thanks to generous donations from families and the community:
STUDENT ENRICHMENT
Art Vistas
Art Vistas is a program designed to expose children to fine art and give them hands-on experience with art techniques. The curriculum is based on the Art Vistas Unlimited program developed by Union School District in 1984. The PTA of Marshall Lane avidly supports Art Vistas by providing volunteer parent docents to teach the lessons and assist all of our children in creating works of art.
Assemblies
A portion of the PTA funds support our Educational Assembly Programs. Scientists, historians, artists, musicians, storytellers and a variety of entertainers visit our school to enrich our academic program.
School Garden (Outdoor Education Center)
The School Garden (OEC) is an outdoor classroom / learning environment for the use of up to 50 students. It is a place to learn about nature, water conservation, gardening, native plants, composting, and other environmental studies and much more.
Project Cornerstone
This is a countywide anti-bullying program sponsored by the YMCA and is aimed at supporting the healthy social development of all children and youth. Parent volunteers at Marshall Lane are actively involved in the ABC (Asset Building Champions) Reader program. Once per month, the ABC Parents read a book to their child's class and present an activity with the teacher's assistance.
SCHOOL & COMMUNITY EVENTS
Students and parents will enjoy this unique afternoon of exploring science, technology, engineering, art and math through a variety of hands-on, interactive activities.
Family Picnic
Marshall Lane kicks off the school year with a Welcome Back Family Picnic. Bring a picnic dinner or purchase a meal from one of the food trucks. Don’t forget a blanket and enjoy an evening on the upper field meeting families from our school.
Family Bingo Night
Enjoy a night of prizes and fun with your fellow Marshall Lane families and friends.
TEACHER & CAMPUS SUPPORT
Classroom Accounts
In addition to funding School Office Supplies, the PTA also provides teachers with funds for classroom supplies.
PE Equipment
The PTA values the importance of Physical Education by providing funds to replace damaged PE equipment every year.
Technology
The Marshall Lane PTA strongly supports technology use and development. The Technology Committee makes recommendations to the PTA Board each year for technology needs to benefit our students.
Staff Appreciation Lunches
An opportunity for parent volunteers to show their appreciation for their teachers and office staff.
